As a member of the Roche Informatics Vendor Management Office (“Hub” VMO), you will contribute to developing and enhancing an effective Informatics Vendor Management (VM) framework of processes and standards, across Roche Informatics and fully aligned with our Informatics Tech Framework and Strategy.


The VM framework aims to harmonize sourcing and vendor management processes and standards across Roche Informatics and to enable Vendor Managers, Informatics Leaders and Informatics Experts to drive value from sourcing and vendor management best practises.

The objective is to accelerate the productivity of our internal colleagues when working on IT sourcing or IT vendor management, to further optimize IT investments and to keep control of external partnerships with IT services suppliers, Software vendors (including SW-as-a-service), IT Infrastructure suppliers (including Platform-as-a-Service or Infrastructure-as-Service) and Telecom providers.
You will closely work and align with functional Vendor Management Organizations (VMO) in the Informatics function and Procurement to co-create processes and standards, that enable our Informatics Leaders and Experts to drive even morevalue from our IT Suppliers and external investments.

You will be instrumental to enhance the Vendor Governance and oversight with our top IT vendors.

In this role, you will be:

  • Lead temporary squad of cross-functional IT and Vendor Management experts to co-create and to continuously improve a holistic vendor management framework of process and standards, across Group informatics (e.g. strategic sourcing principles, governance, tools, training, agile partnerships setup and management, continuous improvement management, strategic supplier performance review meetings, supplier risk management).

  • Developing strong inter-departmental working relationships with functional IT VMOs hosted in the various Roche IT functions (“Spoke” VMO or functional VMOs), IT Procurement and key IT stakeholders to ensure proper alignment and adherence to the sourcing principles and the VM framework.

  • Proactively leading vendor management processes expertise to drive continuous improvement and innovation across Group IT.

  • Establishing and enhancing governance oversight and measure performance for top IT suppliers at Group Informatics level.

Job requirements:

  • BS, MS or Ph.D. in Computer sciences, Engineering or Life Sciences degree with significant relevant industrial experience.

  • 10 years experience in managing strategic partnerships, implementing sourcing strategies and optimizing 3rd party investments.

  • Strong understanding of sourcing and vendor management processes.

  • Passion and drive to set standards and practises of vendor management across all functions of Roche Informatics.

  • Ability to build, lead, and motivate squads of Informatics, Sourcing or Vendor.

  • Management experts to co-create vendor management practises and insights.

  • Experience in adopting agile ways of working and mindset to co-create process, best practices for effective vendor management.

  • Enterprise mindset and system thinking, proven ability to work effectively across multiple Informatics areas, global teams and networks in a fast paced environment.

  • Ability to influence with courageous authenticity and build trust with individuals at all levels within the organization.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.  Must be able to influence effectively across all levels of the organization both internal and external to Roche.

  • Ability to work and to deliver results with colleagues based in different geographies.
